Laird in the mix at Phoenix Open but

Knox (and Donald) miss cut

Martin Laird is well in the mix for the Waste Management Phoenix Open with scores of 67 and 66 for nine-under-par 133.
But fellow Scot Russell Knox missed the halfway cut after rounds of 74 and 71 for 145 - four shots too many.
Luke Donald missed out with a 69 for 142, a shot better than Padraig Harrington.
Leading the field at 10-under 132 are South Korean Byeong Hun An (66-66) and Brendan Steele (USA) (65-67).
The big-hitting Laird started at the 10th and picked up shots at 15 and 17, adding another at the third before capping a flawless round with further gains at eight and nine.
Andrew "Beef" Johnston delighted the vast galleries as he birdied three of the last five for a 68 to scrape into the weekend on one under 141.
