Carnoustie's Fraser Mann shot a final round of two-over-par 73, which included a double bogey 7 at the par-5 16th, for a 72-hole final total of six-over-par 280 at the European Senior Tour Qualifying School Final Stage over the Pinta course at Pestana Golf Resort, Lagoa on Portugal's southern Algarve coastline.
His earlier rounds were  73, 76 and 68.
He finished joint 23rd. Only the top five after four rounds earned promotion to the 2017 European Senior Tour.
Irishman Brendan McGovern made all the running to claim the No 1 spot and the 10,000 euros first prize with an 11-under-par total of 273 (66-66-73-68).
Three players, each earning 4,000 euros, tied for second place on 279: England's Peter Wilson (66-75-69-69) and Americans Gary Rusnak (68-71-70-70) and Clark Dennis (70-72-64-73).
There was a play-off for the fifth and last spot between the three players who finished on 281 - Englishmen David Shacklady (70-70-71-70) and Jeff Hall (70-72-69-70) and France's Jean-Pierre Sallat (72-68-69-72).
Sallat won the play-off with a birdie at the first extra hole. Each earned 2,200 euros
Fraser Mann finished outside the prize list.

Irishman McGovern emotional after victory

Ireland’s Brendan McGovern, pictured above by courtesy of Getty Images(c),  dedicated his Senior Tour Qualifying School Final Stage victory to his uncle after finishing top of the class with a score of 11 under par.
The 51 year old successfully made his way through Q-School for the second consecutive year, going wire-to-wire with rounds of 66-66-73-68 to finish six strokes ahead of the chasing pack.
“It was a different Brendan McGovern out there today,” he said. “Last year, after finishing Q-School, nobody had told me that my uncle had passed away while I had been practising.
“He was buried a year ago today and I have to dedicate this to him. He was my 15th club. He was the one who got me into golf, and that kept me going today.
“I was very solid all week and even after my third round I was very comfortable. Today, I missed one green and hit one bogey.”
McGovern finished six strokes clear of Clark Dennis, Gary Rusnak and Peter Wilson who shared second place on five under par, securing their places on the 2017 European Senior Tour
A play-off determined the final card as Frenchman Jean Pierre Sallat beat Jeff Hall and David Shacklady with a birdie on the first extra hole
