Gallant effort by Craig Lawrie but pipped for Algarve first prize

Craig Lawrie covered his last 10 holes in five-under-par with birdies at the ninth, 10th and 11th, capped by and eagle 3 at the 18th but was pipped for first prize in the Algarve Pro Tour's Quinta North Classic by England's Jamie Abbot.
Paul Lawrie's son had a pair of 69s for a six-under-par total of 138 but he finished runner-up, one shot behind Abbot whose closing bag of five birdies included the 18th for rounds of 69 and 68 and a winning total of seven-under 137.
Abbot earned $1,746, Lawrie £1,135.
