European Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 at Frilford Heath

Daniel Kay five shots clear but Cameron and Craig Lawrie need great finishing rounds

Daniel Kay (Dunbar) leads the field at the Stage 1 European Tour Qualifying School four-round competition at Frilford Heath GC, Abingdon by five strokes after a third-round 69 for a tally of ll-under-par 205.
But he could be the only Scot in the big field to advance to Stage 2 because Ross Cameron and Craig Lawrie are joint 39th on 221 and Jay Taylor is on 243.
Only the leading 23 and ties after Friday's fourth round will qualifying for the next stage.
Kay has had scores of 70, 66 and 69 and is playing his best golf of the year. He leads from two Englishmen, Jonathan Caldwell and Luke Cornford.
Peterhead-based Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy) has score 74, 76 and 71 for five-over 221, the same mark as Craig Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) who has had rounds of 73, 76 and 72.
Jay Taylor has shot 85, 79 and 79 for 243.

 In the Stage 1 competition at Bogogno Golf Club, Italy, 
European Tour Scot Craig Doak is on one-over 217 with rounds of 781, 75 and 71 for a share of 30th place.
Aberdeen-born Clark Lutton is on 218 with rounds of 70, 73 and 73. He is tied 40th.
Only the leading 25 and ties will advance to Stage 2
Frenchman Raphail Marguery leads with 69, 69 and 65 for 203.
