Senior Scots beat France to earn semi-final 

against England in European championships

Scotland swept through to a semi-final meeting against England with a 4-1 win over France while, the top seeds, Ireland went down to a shock 3-2 defeat by the eight qualifier, Italy, in today's quarter-finals of the European senior men's amateur team championship at the Diners Golf and Country Club, Ljubljana in Slovenia.
Ronnie Clark (5 and 4), Nick Robson (3 and 2) and Graham Bell (4 and 3) were individual winners for the Scots.
Ian Brotherston had a square match and so too had the foursomes pairing of David Gardner and Malcolm Reid.
RESULTS
QUARTER-FINALS
SCOTLAND 4, FRANCE 1
D Gardner and M Reid halved with P Abraham and D Santa.

N Robson bt P Loumaigne 3 and 2.
I Brotherston halved with D Clerget
