The
reason for my contact with you is to make you aware of a very special
golfing family who we work here at United Sports USA [UK-based sports
scholarship consultancy] regarding a story that may be of great interest
to your readers at The Scottish Golf View.
The MacLaren family are made of David, recently appointed Head of the European Senior Tour and a keen golfer who plays off 5, Mary, who plays off 3 and is a member of the Irish Senior Ladies Team and daughters Meghan, Curtis Cup 2016 team selection and Becky who leaves for college in America in 2017. They are clients of ours at United Sports USA.
We have been working with the family for four years, placing older daughter Meghan on a fully funded golf scholarship to Florida International University.
Meghan, pictured, has been selected to represent GB and I in the Curtis Cup match this weekend in Ireland. Meghan has enjoyed a marvellous college career, graduating in May 2016 and is ranked 40th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
She was the first
Florida International golfer to make the National Finals in 21 years, won 8
times during her US college career, she is one of six on the GB and I team who have
played their golf at college in America.

Rebecca
[Becky] MacLaren – younger sister of Meghan currently still at high
school in the UK. Leaves for America to attend college summer 2017,
plays off 4 and also a client of United Sports USA.
Becky
is still speaking to around 15 coaches so not decided yet but
she is hoping for somewhere in Florida. She visited Barry University
when she was out for Meghan’s graduation. Lynn University and Florida
Tech are also speaking to her.
