Fotheringham finishes just outside medals

Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) finished just outside the medals in the rain-shortened European men's mid-amateur championship at Karlovy Vary Golf Resort in the Czech Republic.
Fotheringham had rounds of 71 and 74 for 145 and was placed fourth behind a German 1-2 at the top of the leaderboard.]Marc Mazur from Stuttgart won the gold medal with rounds of 74 and 67 for 141, one stroke ahead of Claudio Consul from Dusseldorf with scores of 69 and 74.
A Frenchman, Edouard Penn, had the same total as Fotheringham with rounds of 70 and 75 but the Scot's second round gained him official fourth place.
The only other Scot in the field, Fotheringham's Forres clubmate, Robert McKerron, missed the cut with an 85 in the first round.
