Whiteford's purple patch puts him in Czech

mix but Law misses cut with four-under total

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Peter Whiteford had a brilliant six-under-par run - an eagle 3 at the long seventh and birdies at the 12th, 13th, 16th and 18th - to post a five-under-par 67 for a 36-hole tally of 11-under-par 133 in  a low-scoring Czech Challenge at Dritec in the Czech Republic today.
The Kirkcaldy man had bogeyed the first hole then parred his way to the seven before his round took off big time.
Sharing fifth place, Whiteford is four strokes behind the leader, Frenchman Adrien Saddier who has scored 65-64 for 15-under 129.
Duncan Stewart (Turnhouse) has had a pair of 68s for 136 and a share of 23rd place.
George Murray and Scott Hendry are tied 32nd on 137, Murray scoring 67-70, Henry 68-69.
Jack Doherty made the cut with a shot to spare in T43 position after a pair of 69s for 138.
Aberdonian David Law's disappointing run continues although he was unfortunate to miss out with a four-under-par total of 140. He missed the cut by one shot despite birdieing the third, 17th and 18th in a bogey free 69
Paul Shields (72-73 for 145) and Chris Doak (75-76 for 151)  were the Scottish non-qualifiers.
