Glenbervie's Graeme Robertson won the Craigmillar Park Open for a second time today (Sunday) when he beat Calum Fyfe (Cawder) at the second hole of sudden-death play-off after they had tied on 15-under-par 265 at the end of the regulation 72 holes at the parkland Edinburgh venue.
Robertson won the tournament previously in 2012
Fyfe went through green with his second shot but played a
good chip .. only to take three putts.
Robertson had a regulation title-winning par: on in two, and two putts.
Robertson's scores of 65, 69, 63 and 68 included THREE eagle 3s at par-5 holes ... the 14th in Saturday's first round and the 14th again in Sunday morning's third round followed by a crucial gain at the 17th in the final round.
Fyfe, who led the field with a first-round, seven-under-par 63, added scores of 71, 65 and 66
A double bogey 5 at the short 13th, even though he followed it with birdies at the 14th and 15th proved the difference between success and defeat.
Matthew Clark (Kilmacolm) and Jamie Savage (Cawder) tied for third place, two behind Robertson and Fyfe.
