Fotheringham wins North Alliance fixture

 with a 66 at Spey Bay

Bryan Fotheringham secured his first outright win of the season with a four under par 66 in Saturday's rescheduled North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture at Spey Bay. 

The Forres player had five birdies - at the seventh, eighth, ninth, 12th and 17th - against a solitary bogey at the fourth.

Bryan, pictured, geaded a field of 62 players  by two strokes from Scott Dingwall (Grantown on Spey) who bogeyed the second and then played par golf until scoring three late birdies at holes 14, 16 and 17. 

The winners of the handicap sections, I Murray and B Muray, both Boat of Garten GC members, are not related.

Each of the  first six scratch scores kept a 6 or worse off their cards. There were several worse figures including players in successive groups who recorded 12 and 13 at the sixth holewhich measures 305 yards
