The PGA of Austria’s Georg Schultes continued his excellent form in the Mercedes-Benz International Pro-Am at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates with a superb second-round 66 (-5) to take the lead heading in to the final round.
Schultes hasn’t finished outside of the top-five in the Pro-Am since the first edition in 2014 and he looks set to continue that remarkable record after his second round that consisted of six birdies and one solitary bogey.  A two-round total of 134 (-8) gives him a four stroke advantage over the rest of the field.
In second place is the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland’s Daniel Whitby-Smith who fired in six birdies on his way to a second round 67 (-4) to move him to a total of 138 (-4) keeping him in touch of the lead.

Overnight leader, Jonathan Stacey (PGA of GB and I), dropped a couple of shots in Round 02 moving into a share of third place with 2015 Defending Champion and fellow countryman, Garry Houston, who matched his first round score of 70 (-1) to sit six shots off the pace.
In the Team Pro-Am Tournament, Rockliffe Hall Golf and Spa Hotel’s Assistant Professional, Jonny Dye, and his team extended their lead at the top to four points after an equally impressive second round score of 85 Points (-13); a two round total of 176 points (-32).

Jonathan Stacey and his team remained close after a solid second round of 83 points (-11) moved them to 172 points (-28) for their two rounds where they are joined by Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club Professional, Enda Maguire, and the PGA of GB and I’s Darren Bragg, whose team carded the best score of the day with 90 points (-18) for a share of second place.

With the top six teams being separated by just six points it is going to be extremely competitive closing round to determine who takes the top spot.

Special mention must also go to Martin McFlynn who made an exceptional hole-in-one with a five-iron from 172m on the 17th hole.
