HUTCHEON WINS AT STORMY OLDMELDRUM

Greig Hutcheon (PLGC) has won today's - Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Sponsored - North East Alliance fixture at Oldmeldrum Golf Club.
Hutcheon's superb 6 under par 64 was made up of 7 birdies - at the 1st, 4th, long 6th, short 7th, 12th, 15th and 16th - against a single drop shot on the short 3rd.
Hutcheon won by two clear shots of stablemates Laura Murray, Greg McBain, Sam Kiloh and Phil McLean. Murray and McBain had equal halves of 2 under for each nine, where both Kiloh and McLean had 4 under par front nines but covered the back nine in level par.
On a day of fantastic overall scoring in gusting winds and heavy rain, the sponsors (Paul Lawrie Golf centre) should be proud to see their players dominate the top 5 and make up exactly half of the top 20 scratch scores! Their sponsorship this week added £10 to each of the top 5 prizes, in all 3 scoring sections.
The excellent scoring also translated to each handicap section - Class 1 having been won by Fergus Bisset (Banchory) with a nett 66, giving him a single shot victory over John Borthwick (Craibstone).
However, the outstanding score of the day was reserved for Class 2 winner - Sandy Davidson (Northern) - his nett 61 allowed him a three shot victory from S Ross (Hazlehead) who's nett 64 would be good enough almost every other week!
