St Andrews Boys' Open for Merchiston Cup
Kyle Reid and Graham Green through to
quarter-finals
Kyle Reid (Balmore), winner of the Scottish Under-16 stroke-play championship this summer, is through to the last eight of the St Andrews Boys' Open over the Eden Course.
After a 4 and 2 victory in the first round of Merchiston Cup scratch match-play this morning, Kyle, the No 11 match-play qualifier, had an even bigger win in the round of the last 16.
He beat Rory Henderson by 5 and 4.
Fellow Scot Graham Greer, the No 4 qualifier from Carluke, is also making headway in the top half of the draw. He had two one-hole wins, the Round 2 opponent being Keith Bowman, the No 20 qualifier from St Andrews New.
Kieran McVicar, the 16th qualifier from the East Kilbride club, lost by 5 and 3 in the second round to the top seed from Japan, Yuki Shino
