Paul Lawrie has 72 - seven shots behind leader at halfway

Horsey bolts clear in Denmark - three ahead
EUROPEAN TOUR COMMUNICATIONS

David Horsey will take a three-stroke lead into the weekend at Made in Denmark after a four under par 67 on another brilliant day at Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort.
In front of crowds totalling nearly 20,000, the Englishman cruised to 12 under par 130 for the tournament, breaking away from compatriot John Parry (67) and Australian Richard Green (65) with an eagle, five birdies and three bogeys.
Home favourites Thomas Bjørn and Søren Kjeldsen are four and five under respectively, while Ryder Cup Captain Darren Clarke is three under, but Andreas Hartø stole the headlines despite missing the halfway cut on home soil.
The 27 year old stiffed his tee shot on the now famous par three 16th hole, rolled in the putt from a few feet for birdie, then went down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend, who was in the crowd, sending the thousands of spectators into raptures.
Quotes
David Horsey

“I had a good holiday last week, which is always nice mid-season. You get a little bit burnt out sometimes and I was getting frustrated with it, so it was nice to put the clubs away for a week and get away and forget about golf. It seems to have done the job. You’ve got to enjoy being in this position – you’re not going to turn down leading a golf tournament heading into the weekend.”
John Parry
“I played well but it was a bit more a struggle than yesterday. For the bogey at the last I holed a six or seven footer, so it actually doesn’t feel as bad when you do that. I hit it a lot better on the back nine – my front nine – and I was holing pretty much everything I looked at. I’ve put a new putter in the bag this week. I was really struggling with my putting and not being consistent. Sometimes you just need to chuck something in and see how it works. I’ve worked on technique, which has been helpful, but out on the course you just need to see it and hit it.”
Richard Green
“It’s a bit of a surprise as I’ve just come off three weeks of not playing and just caddieing for my fiancée. I’m hitting it well and putting well, so I’ll take it. It’s freshened up the mind a little bit. At this time of year the tournaments are a bit thin if you’re not in the Majors or the WGCs, so it’s been a good break before a busy end to the season. You see the game in a different light when you’re caddieing. You get your strategy mind going. I’ve always found after I’ve caddied for her that my mind is working better.”
Andreas Hartø

“Last year we had some great memories on that hole. It was a great experience and she was here watching me more or less for the first time. I was very nervous when it happened, but I couldn’t have written it any better. I don’t know how I hit that shot or made that putt. I was almost crying when I hit the putt because I knew what was about to happen. I know she might think I’m a bit silly but it’s going to be a great memory for us as we grow older.”
