Danny McConnachie wins South Championship for first time

Danny McConnachie (Dumfries and County) claimed his first South Championship at Powfoot on Sunday with two solid rounds of 71 in testing conditions for a level par total of 142. 

He scored a three-stroke victory over last year's champion Martin McNae (Lochmaben) and Andrew Kerr (Crichton) who finished second equal on 145.
