R and A staffer DuncanWeir wins Fife 

match-play title at Aberdour


Duncan Weir, the R and A's director of Golf Development, has won the Fife men's match-play championship  at Aberdour Golf Club.
Weir, pictured, a member of Burntisland Golf Club, won four ties over the weekend, culminating in a 6 and 5 victory over  David Gorman (Drumoig) in the final, having squeeze through at the 19th in the morning semi-final against Bobby Wallace (Canmore).
In the other semi-final, Gorman won at the 20th against Robbie White (Leven Golf Society. 

Weir took a stranglehold on the outcome of the final over the opening nine holes. He was four up at the turn against Gorman.
