North and North-east boys and girls named for Grampain-Houston Junior Trip

The best of the current crop of young golfers in the North and North-east have been chosen to form this year's squad of 11 players to go to Texas in October for 11 days as the Grampian Houston Junior Trip.
They are:
Callum Bruce (Duff House Royal)
Rory Franssen (Inverness)
Ben Henderson (Deeside)
Sam Locke (Banchory)
Fintan McKenna (Royal Aberdeen)
Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne)
Andrew Moir (Elgin)
Kiran Nolan (Kemnay)
Stephen Roger (Cruden Bay)
Sandy Scott (Nairn)
 Carinne Taylor (Forres)
The biennial trip to play some top courses in the Houston area and to show their paces in front of US college golf coaches was originally the brainchild of Banchory-born Bruce Davidson while he was head professional at River Oaks Country Club, near Houston.
But Bruce has signed moved away from River Oaks to a new venture in North Carolina and one of his former assistants, Rickie Lyon, now head pro at Shadow Hawk Golf and Country Club, near Houston has taken on the organisation of the trip in Texas in the last three or four years.
The party is selected by a committee headed by Aberdeen's John Connon, a Royal Aberdeen member and former Aberdeen Links champion.
