Jimmy Gunn's double-eagle finish wins the 

Colorado Open

Dornoch exile Jimmy Gunn has followed up his second-place finish in the San Juan Open by winning the Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club at the weekend.
Gunn earned $23,000 plus a lnjaotrophy for his latest victory in the States where he has campaigned since he turned pro and left the Highlands to set up a base at Scottsdale, Arizona.
Gunn has managed to make money on the satellite tours in America even though a player has too shoot double digit under par to have a chance in their tournaments.
Jimmy was 21 under par in finishing second in the San Juan Open and 19 under par in winning the Colorado Open.
Gunn trailed Americans Zakhai Brown and Ian Davis for most of the 72-hole event but covered the final 36 holes in 13 under par - 66 and 64 - to sweep to the front with a double-eagle finish.
In his final round, he birdied the fourth, sixth and ninth for 33 to the turn.
Another birdie at the 10th put him four under for the day. Then came an eagle 3 at the long 12th followed by an eagle 2 at the par-4 15th.
That was enough to take him into the pole position. Guun could even afford the luxury of a bogey a the 18th as he signed off tieh a 65 for 19-under 269 and a one-shot win from Brown (68-270) and by four from the third-placed Davis (71-273)
