Golf Data Lab Scottish youths championship at Irvine GC

MacIntyre lets lead slip over final round -

Norwegian wins title by five

Jarand Arnoy from the Fana Golf Club, Norway kept his head while his rivals were faltering over the final round and he finished up winning the Golf Data Lab Scottish youths championship by the resounding margin of  five strokes at Irvine Golf Club.
He is the first Norwegian to win the title.
He signed off with a steady one-under-par 70 for a 72-hole aggregate of three-under-par 281. He was the only player to finish under par
With 18 holes to go, Oban left-hander Robert MacIntyre looked well on the way to regaining the title he won in 2013.
He shot an excellent morning third round of four-under-par 67 to lead the field by a shot from Arnoy as first and second-round leader Alastair Thurlow (Murrayfield) dropped out of the hunt with a 78, which was followed by a 77. He finished 10th.
But MacIntyre's hopes surprisingly slumped in the final round. He could not conjure up a single birdie and had a double bogey 5 at the short eighth and also bogeyed the fourth, ninth and 12th in disappointing halves of 40 and 36.
The Glencruitten player's five-over 76 for 286 saw him drop into a three-way tie for second place alongside another Norwegian, Lars Sandvoll and Lancashire's Sean Blinkhorn.
Blinkhorn secured the silver medal by way of a better last round, with the other two players picking up bronze.
Liberton’s Kieran Cantley took fifth place on four over par, with last year’s SGU Boys Order of Merit champion, Calum Fyfe from Cawder, a stroke further back.
The general rise in the fourth-round scores was reflected in the CSS, which had been 73 for the first three rounds, going up to 74.
