Brotherston, Patterson lead South Seniors on 67 at Dumfries and County

Ian Brotherston (Dumfries and County) and  Tony Patterson ( Sunningdale) took advantage of fine scoring conditions at Dumfries and County with scores of 67 to lead the South Of Scotland Seniors Open Championship today.

 The holder, Ronnie Clark (Erskine) is one shot back on 68 with Tom Sirel (Largs) who had arguably the best performance of the day in beating his age by 2 shots. Tom looked as if he might do better when he reached the turn in 31 but he dropped 2 shots coming back to finish in 68.

 Tight finishes have been a feature of this year's events and tomorrow looks likely to continue that pattern.

The CSS was 71 for the course which has a par of 69.
