Bell wins North District boys title for Bain Trophy

Tom Bell (Forres) today won ther North District SGU boys' chzampionship for the R P B Bain Trophy in wet conditions at Invergordon Golf Club.
Bell (pictured) shot rounds of 74 and 67 for 141 to win the Bain Trophy, a silver medal and a £65 voucher.

Runner-up, two shots behind after rounds of 73 and 70 was Euan Munro from Reay. He won a bronze medal and a £50 voucher.
A further six shots back in third place was another far-travelled competitor, Michael Schinkel from Orkney with 76-73 for 149.
The Under-16 years scratch title was won by Andrew Moir (Elgin) with 78-71 for 149, the same total as Lorne Ross (Fort William) who lost out on the second round countback with score sof 73-76.
The handicap champion by a 12-shot margin was Finlay Wickenden (Nairn) with net scores of 62-57 off 19 for an aggregate of 119.
The Emslie Shield team event saw Nairn and Fort William share the top of the returns with 460. Nairn were declared the winners with the better second-round total.
Inverness (481) were third and Fortreose and Rosemarkie fourth with 512.
