Darren Howie, Emma Morrison top of the Class in PLF Scottish Schools championship

Darren Howie (Borders) and Emma Morrison (Edinburgh) finished top of the class in the boys' and girls' sections of the Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish schools golf championships over the two courses at Murrayshall Hotel near Perth.
Howie shot 72-67 for a two-under-par total of 139 over the  main courese (par 72) and the par 68 Lynedoch lay-out. He topped the boys' returns by two shots from Rory Franssen (Highland) (73-68 for 141) with Bathgate's Joe Bryce (West Lothian) in third place on 142 (75-67).
The boys' team title went north in the hands of the Highland pair, Rory Franssen (Inverness) and Nairn's Sandy Scott (77-67 for 144).
And so it proved a productive 48 hours for the Howie clan from Peebles
Craig, the 2012 Scottish Boys champion, shared third in Sunday's St Andrews Links Trophy before younger brother Darren claimed victory at the  Perthshire venue..
Howie posted a two under par winning total in the Paul Lawrie-sponsored event, two strokes clear of
The Lothians’ Emma Morrison took the girls’ scratch prize with an aggregate of 145 (71-74), one ahead of Deeside's Lauren Watson (Aberdeen City) (69-77 for 146) and two in front of third-placed Shannon McWilliam (South Aberdeenshire) (71-76 for 147.
Shannon, who will play for GB and I in the Junior Vagliano Trophy match at Malone GC, Belfast the week after next, was the defending champion.
Lauren Watson secured the girls' handicap titlen and partnered Hazlehead's Jasmine MacKintosh, shortly to make her county debut for the Aberdeenshire women's team,  to success in the girls’ team title  for Aberdeen City.
On a day that produced fine golf, with Lawrie enjoying some of the action, there were remarkably two holes in one recorded.
Highland's Finlay Asher from Nairn struck the first of the day at the 18th (Murrayshall course) in his morning round and Robert Watson (Clackmannanshire) had his on the 6th (Lynedoch) in the afternoon.

The youngsters also enjoyed seeing the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open trophy, which was on show in the clubhouse during the day.
