£35,000 Aberdeen Senior Masters will draw 
golden oldies to Meldrum House August 17-19

Some of the leading senior pro golfers in Europe will be heading for the North-east of Scotland soon to play in a new 54-hole tournament at Meldrum House Golf Club, Oldmeldrum.

The tournament, to be staged from August 17 to 19, will be called the Aberdeen Masters and will have a prize fund in the region of £35,000. Category 1 amateurs aged over 48 years will also be eligible to enter.
Co-sponsors are Thistle Windows, D and G Fitness and Meldrum House Hotel.

"We already have an almost full field with a lot of great players from byegone days, such as Paul Broadhurst , Miguel Martin , Gary Wolstenhome, Gordon Brand, Ronan Raffert , Stephen McAllister , Pedro Linhart , Santiago Luna, Bill Longmuir , Mark Farry. Philip Price, D J Russell, Domingo Hosptal, Brian Marchbank and others all committed to the event already. There will be around 72 in the field."
First prize will be between £6,000 and £8,000, says Mr Robson, stressing that the tournament, although being staged at a private members' course, will be open to the public to spectate.

+Nick Robson is an active senior golfer. He has won a tournament in Spain when the field included professionals.
