Only 11 Scots survived the second-round crcut in the PGA EuroPro Tour Final Qualifying School at Frilford Heath Golf Club, Abingdon, Oxfordshire today (Thu)

Welshman Gareth Wright (West Linton) headed the Scottish-based qualifiers with scores of 68 and 70 for 138 - six behind the leading qualifier for the third round, Martin Sell (England) with 65 and 67 for 12-under 132.

Craig Lawrie slipped back from a 67 to a 73 but is still well up the leaderboard in joint 14th place. One of the last to finish, former Walker Cup player Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) shot a second-round 68 (one eagle, four birdies) to join Craig on 140

Fellow Paul Lawrie Golf Centre player Sam Kiloh posted a second-round 68 to clinch his place in the final round. He started with a birdie and then had an eagle 2 at the second. He went on to reach the turn in five-under-par 31 and finished the round in joint 24th position.

The cut-off mark was 144. Those with that aggregate and better are still in the competition; those with 145 and worse are on the sidelines.

Nairn Dunbar's Gavin Hay, well up after a first-round 69, crashed out with a 78 for 147.

North-east Alliance champion, Newmachar amateur John Duff, playing as an amateur failed to make the grae on 150 (76-74)

That was one shot better than Lloyd Saltman (Archerfield Links) who was doomed after a first-round 77 He posted a 74 for 151
