Only Northern's Ben Lumsden can dislodge Hamish McNaughton (Cruden Bay) from the No 1 position at the last counting event in the North-east Alliance Handicap Class 2 Order of Merit, sponsored by WLM Golf, writes Colin Farquharson

Hamish, pictured left, has 1650 points in the bank and Ben is lying second in the table with 1,475pt.
Only the top five (and ties) in the Handicap Class 2 returns at Craibstone next Wednesday will earn points - 1st 250; 2nd 200; 3rd 150; 4th 100; 5th 50.
So Lumsden, to close that 175pt gap, needs go finish first or second on his own in Class 2 on Wednesday with the proviso that McNaughton does not pick up any additional points.
There's a £50 amateur voucher donated by Willie McKenzie's WLM Golf company to the winner. No runner-up prize so it's all or nothing for Lumsden.
Neither made the Class 2 prizelist at the Duff House Royal fixture last Wednesday. If that situation is repeated come Wednesday, then
Hamish McNaughton  will collect the prize. 
Sandy Davidson (Northern) was "Climber of the Week" on the Class 2 table, improving his position by 13 rungs to No 23.
The Order of Merit prizes will be presented at Craibstone Golf Club's Brimmond Bistro within the clubhouse at the end of the championship second round next Wednesday.
