North-east Alliance Class 2 Order of Merit
CAN BEN CATCH HAMISH OVER LAST
TWO EVENTS ?... PROBABLY NOT!

Mathematically, Cruden Bay's Hamish McNaughton, long-time leader of the North-east Golfers' Alliance Class 2 Handicap Order of Merit table can be caught ... but the reality is that he has one hand on
the £50 amateur voucher being put up for the winner by teaching pro Willie McKenzie's WLM Golf company.
With only two counting events to go - both rounds of the Championship at Duff House Royal on Wednesday and Craibstone on March 18 - Hamish leads second-place Ben Lumsden (Northern by 175pt.
Order of Merit points are earned by the top five (and ties) prizewinners in the category at each fixture.
The points are: Category winner - 250pt; 2nd - 200; 3rd - 150; 4th - 100; 5th - 50.
So Ben needs achieve one - or two - high placed finishes over the last two counting fixtures ... and hope that Hamish does not score any.
Pressure on both men at Duff House Royal on Wednesday then but more on the chasing Lumsden than the man in the pole position, McNaughton.
The biggest climbers of the week were Neish Chisholm and Mike Brown, both of whom improved by six places in the table on the back of their performances at Oldmeldrum on Wednesday.
If you are not happy with your scoring, Willie McKenzie can be contacted on his mobile phone, 07984 756332 if you want to fix up some lessons from him to improve your game. Willie can also be contacted through his website, WLMgolf.com
Thanks, as usual, to Joel Hopwood, Senior Assistant Professional at Royal Aberdeen GC, for devising the Order of Merit points scheme and updating the tables every week for Scottishgolfview.com
