TIED TOURNAMENT SCRAMBLE FORMAT RECORD

DAY AND  TRINGALE LEAD FRANKLIN

TEMPLETON SHOOTOUT WITH A 55

Australian Jason Day and American Cameron Tringale combined to shoot 17-under 55 in a scramble format to take  the first-round lead  at the Franklin Templeton Shootout.
Their score tied the tournament scramble record set by tournament host Greg Norman and Steve Elkington in 2005. Day and Tringale made just three pars as a team as they also notched 13 birdies and two eagles.
The pair lead Harris English and Matt Kuchar by two shots at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida
Two more shots back are Graeme McDowell and Gary Woodland, Keegan Bradley and Camilo Villegas, and Ryan Palmer and Jimmy Walker.
The field will play modified alternate shots today (Friday) and four-ball on Saturday.
