WRIGHT WINS NORTH ALLIANCE
 
AFTER GODSMAN'S PENALTY DROP
 
Jeff Wright  from Forres won the top scratch prize at the North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture at Inverness on Saturday with a one-over-par 70. 
But it was a close-run thing in the end.
Wright recovered from bogeys at the second and fourth with a run of four birdies, at the fifth, seventh, 11th and 12th, and was two under par on the 13th tee.
However, he then bogeyed the 13th, 14th and 16th.
That left the door open for Hopeman's Kyle Godsman who came to the 18th needing a birdie to win or a par to tie Wright.
Instead he finished with a bogey after having to take a drop under penalty and returned a 71, one behind winner Wright.
