It's been a decade since a Scot won the Eden Tournament men's open at St Andrews ... Craig Donaldson (Downfield) lifted the trophy in 2004 ...
the prospects are good of a Scot winning the prestigious tournament this week.
Six Scots are among the leading 20 qualifiers for the match-play stages, including the top seed Allan Johnston (Bonnyton).

Johnston and Adam Stone (Lancaster) headed the field of 240 with 12-over-par aggregates of 154, high scoring because of the unpleasant weather.

Johnston's rounds of 78 (New Course) and 75 (Eden) gave him the countback edge of Stone's 70 (New) and 83 (Eden).

The five other Scots in the top 20 were Eddie Gibson (Crow Wood) (75-79) on 154; Greg Halkett (Kirkintilloch) (77-78) on 155, Allan McDonald (Crow Wood) (76-80), on 156, and David Lamont (Haggs Castle) (79-78) and Allister Raphael (St Andrews) 76 81, both on 157.
