HURRICANE BERTHA FLOODING

CLOSES DEESIDE COURSES
Both Deeside Golf Club's courses - the Haughton and Blairs - are closed due to the force of Hurricane Bertha that hit Aberdeen on Sunday evening.
Club captain Duncan R Skinner, in an E-mail to the Bieldside club's members said: "The effect of the heavy rain has caused the fast flowing River Dee to burst its banks and there is severe flooding on both courses.
"We can foresee the closure will last for several days.  I would like to advise members to check the website or the course condition option on the club telephone system for any updates.
"The practice area and driving range are unaffected and the clubhouse remains open for business as usual."
