PAUL LAWRIE GC LADIES' TOUR EVENT


The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Ladies Tartan Tour 36-hole stroke-play tournament on July 25-26 should draw its biggest field so far this year.

The £6,000 event is being staged nearer to England than usual - at the Macdonald Cardrona Golf Hotel and Spa, near Peebles in the Scottish Borders.

The tournament is open to any lady professional or trainee and also to female amateurs with single-figure handicaps.

July 14 is the closing date for entries and players who are not PGA members or are amateurs should telephone their entry to the PGA in Scotland HQ at Gleneagles - 01764 661 840.

The tournament is sponsored by the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre and Seven Investment Management. The PLGC Ladies Tartan Tour is also supported by the R&A.

The £6,000 prize fund will be distributed over the top 10 and ties at the end of 36 holes as follows:
1 - £2,500; 2 - £1,250; 3 - £750; 4 - £500; 5 - £350; 6 - £250; 7 - £150; 8 - £100; 9 - £80; 10 - £70.
Amateurs will be restricted under the Rules of Amateur Status to a maximum prize voucher value of £500.

Accommodation for competitors is available at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel which is at the Dave Thomas-designed course.
A single room bed and breakfast will cost ££60 per night; a twin-bedded double room will cost £80.  The number to call to make a reservation is 01896 833 731
