ALL-CALEDONIAN MATCH-UP FOR THE TITLE PLAY-OFF


TOP SEED REID v DOIG IN FRIDAY'S

ABERDEEN LINKS FINAL

Friday night's Aberdeen Links championship final will be an all-Caledonian affair between past title-holder Barry Reid, the top seed, against Alan Doig.
The semi-finals lived up to their billing with Reid and Ronnie Evett, also a past champion, fighting out the closest of matches before Reid won by one hole.
Doig beat Chis Somers at the 20th in the other semi-final.
Somers was two up after holes but Doig had squared the match by the turn. Doig took the lead at the12th but Reid won the 15th and the next three holes were halved, sending the tie into extra time

The Handicap Shield semi-finals  saw Steven Muir beat Northern clubmate Jackie Forrest 3 and 2 with Muir never behind in the match.
He will play past Links champion Alan Sheldrick (Caledonian)  in the final. Sheldrick beat Matty Edmond (Bon Accord0 at the 21st after being two up with four to play.
The Murray Cup final will also be an all-Caledonian tussle between Chris Carson and Brook Smith.
Carson beat Reece Smith by one hole. Reece's brother Brook had better luck in beating Caledonian clubmate Paul Kane by two holes.

Alan Doig (Caledonian bt Chris Somers at 20th.
HANDICAP SHIELD
Alan Sheldrick (Caledonian) (7) bt Matty Edmond (Bon Accord) (5) at 21st.
Steven Muir (Northern) (5) bt Jackie Forrest (Northern) (8) 3 and 2
MURRAY CUP
Chris Carson (Caledonian) (20) bt Reece Smith (Caledonian) (10) 1 hole.
Brook Smith (Caledonian) (15) bt  Paul Kane (Caledonian) (21) 2 holes.
