FERRIER IN TOP 10 AT CANADIAN TOUR EVENT;
CORMACK JOINT 30TH AT VANCOUVER
Paul Ferrier, the Baberton player who won the Scottish U18 boys' match-play title in 2007, is lying joint seventh in a field of 156 after the first round of the Canadian Tour event, the PC Financial Open, at Point Grey Golf and Country Club, Vancouver.
Ferrier birdied the first, 12th, 16th and 18th on his way to a fouor-under-par 68.
Aberdeen-born Paul Cormack is joint 30th on 70 after starting his round with an eagle 3 at the par-5 first. He also birdied the third and short 13th but bogeys at the ninth and 16th dropped him out of the top 15 to 20.
Three Canadians share a one-stroke lead with six-under 66s.
