MAX TING (13) QUALIFIES TO PLAY IN HONG KONG OPEN

Max Ting will tee it up at next week's Hong Kong Open, where he is set to become the fourth youngest player to compete in a European Tour event.
Ting, who will be 13 years and 288 days old when he begins his first round next Thursday at Hong Kong GC, earned one of three qualifying spots today at the New Course in Fanling, China.
"That's amazing. I didn't know that," Ting told the South China Morning Post. “It’s great and I’m really looking forward to play in the (Hong Kong) Open. I tried to stay calm and play my own game. I felt very good.”
Ye Wocheng was 12 years and 242 days old when he competed at the China Open earlier this year, breaking Tianlang Guan's previous record of 13 years and 177 days, which was set at the 2012 China Open.
Guan is entered in the field for next week's event in Hong Kong.
