SEAN JACKLIN, JOHN PARRY AND RHYS DAVIES FAIL TO GAIN PASS MARKS AT WEB.COM TOUR Q SCHOOL

FROM THE US PGA TOUR WEBSITE
The second stage of Web.com Tour q-school is vital. It’s all-or-nothing for most of the participants. Players who advance to the third and final stage are guaranteed at least conditional status on the Web.com Tour, which is now the only pathway to the US PGA Tour.
Most who miss out at second stage will start 2014 without status on that circuit.
Q-school’s second stage concluded this past week with four sites. Two sites were held last week (click here for a roundup)

Three names who mean something on this side of the Atlantic were among the failures.
Strange how sons of famous golfing fathers seldom prosper on their own two feet.
SEAN JACKLIN, son of former Open and US Open champion, Tony Jacklin, finished well out of the hunt for Stage 3, 67th to be precise at Plantation Preserve Golf Club, Plantation in Florida.
JOHN PARRY, a member of the GB and I Walker Cup team of 2007, missed out by a shot at Shell Landing Golf Club, Gautier, Mississippi.
Another ex-Walker Cup man, Welshman Rhys Davies, who won he European Tour in Morocco in 2010, failed to gain pass marks in the Stage 2 eliminator at Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club, Brooksville, Florida.
