LANARKSHIRE START WEST OF SCOTLAND LEAGUE WITH A WIN

Lanarkshire started their West of Scotland A-Team league with a 4.5-3.5 win against Ayrshire at a windswept, wet Drumpellier today. 
The match was close throughout and actually went to the last putt of the last match to give Danny Keeney of Bellshill the match-winning half after a brave fightback from Gary Bryden of Girvan who made birdies at 16 and 17.
 Next week Lanarkshire play Glasgow at Cowglen  and Ayrshire play Renfrewshire at Cochrane Castle.

Craig Ross (Kirkhill) lost to Stuart Robin (St Cuthbert’s) 1 hole
Robert Jenkins (Crow Wood) lost to Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle)  3 and 1
Steven Rennie (Drumpellier) bt Gordon Boyle (Turnberry) 4 and 3
Ross Hinshelwood (East Kilbride) bt Stephen Spence (Royal Troon) 4 and 3 
Colin Baird (Bothwell Castle) bt John Haggarty (Loudon) 5 and 4.
Danny Keeney (Bellshill) halved with Gary Bryden (Girvan).
Jamie Lamb (Lanark) lost to Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) 2 and 1.
Kenny Gallacher (East Kilbride) bt John Rushbury (Rowallan Castle) 1 hole.
