HARRINGTON REPLACES MICKELSON IN PGA GRAND SLAM EVENT

FROM THE GOLF WEEKLY WEBSITE
Padraig Harrington will get a chance to defend his title at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf after Phil Mickelson withdrew from the event on Tuesday.
It will mark the fourth appearance by Harrington in the four-man tournament, which pits the four major champions of the year against each other. Harrington, who won last year after runner-up finishes in 2007 and '08, will be joined in the field by Masters champion Adam Scott, U.S. Open winner Justin Rose, and Jason Dufner, who won the PGA Championship two weeks ago.
Mickelson's reason for pulling out of the competition, according to the PGA of America, was because of an "end-of-season scheduling conflict."
The event is set for Oct. 14-16 at Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda.
