IRISH SENIOR MEN'S OPEN AMATEUR STROKE-PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Michael Quirke (Doneraile) is the Irish Seniors Amateur Open champion after winning a three-hole aggregate play-off at Malone Golf Club against American Bev Hargraves, whose final round 72 closed a four-shot gap between the pair that existed before the final round.

Both finished on nine-over 222, two shots ahead of Tom Tyrell (The Heath).
Defending champion Adrian Morrow completed a creditable defence of his title with a final round 76 leaving him in the top-10.

Edzell's Keith Bruce, joint second overnight, faded out of contention with a final round of 82 for 231 - nine shots behind the play-off participants.
