Bearsden's Ewen Ferguson saved his best until last - and it won him the inaugural Stephen Gallacher Foundation Trophy Under-18 boys' 54-hole tournament at Macdonald Cardrona, Peebles today.
Ferguson, third overnight after Saturday's opening 36-holes of 75 and 71, came surging past second-round leader Calum Hill (Tantallon) with a three-under-par 69, joint second best score of the final round, for a one-under-par total of 215.
Ewen birdied the seventh, 12th, 15th - bogeyed the 16th - and then birdied the 17th.
Ferguson won by two shots from three players on the 217 mark - Calum Hill (71-73-73), who had a double bogey at the 16th after birdieing the 12th, Chris MacLean (Clydebank and District) (72-73-72) and last year's Scottish schoolboys' champion Connor Syme (Dumfries and County) (74-75-68).
Connor, son of his club's pro, Stuart Syme, pulled up from eighth place overnight with that 68, the lowest of the tournament.
Scottish youths champion Robert MacIntyre (Glencruitten) posted a closing 69 after disappointing rounds of 77 and 76 to finish joint fifth on 222 with Rory Franssen (Inverness) (74-73-75).
