CURRIE AND BROWN TIE FOR WIN AT DALMUIR PRO-AM

Christopher Currie (Caldwell) and Montrose Links' Graeme Brown
made hay while the sun shone for the West Dunbartonshire pro-am
over the Dalmuir municipal course.
Between them they had 13 birdies over the par-68 lay-out as each
hit the four-under-par 64 mark.
Currie birdied the long third, fifth, sixth, eighth, 10th and short 15th, offset by bogeys at the short 11th and 13th.
Brown had more birdies - but more bogeys too. His seven sub-par
figures came at the second, long third, sixth, eighth, 10th, short 12th
and 16th. But he dropped strokes at the seventh, short 11th and short 14th.
Each earned £1,072.
Chris Kelly (Cawder), whose girlfriend Heather MacRae won on the LETAS circuit in Sweden on Friday, collected £715 for third place on 65, a bogey-free round with three early birdies at the long third, short fourth and sixth.
Stephen Gray (Hayston) won this event with a 66 12 months ago. He had the same score today but it earned him only a share of fourth place with Mark Kerr (Marriott Dalmahoy) this time.
By the way, the pros unanimously considered the greens at this municipal venue, to be the best they have played on so far this season. Take a bow, the greenkeeping staff at Dalmuir!
