PHILIP McLEAN IN TOP 15, DAVID JAMES MISSES CUT

Peterhead's Philip McLean and David James from Dumfries had contrasting fortunes on the second day of this week's German PGA Developmental Tour event, the Lixus Open at Port Lixus Golf Resort, Larache, Morocco.
McLean, playing out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, made the cut for the first time this year with rounds of 74 and 71 for one-over 145.
Three over par for the second round after bogeying the second and running up a double bogey 6 at the fourth, McLean eliminated the negative completely over the next 15 holes which he covered in four under par with birdies at the 11th, 14th, 15th and short 16th in an inward 32.
McLean goes into the third and final round in joint 14th position, with his sights set on a best ever performance on this tour.
But David James missed the cut by two shots with rounds of 80 and 70 for 150. A double bogey 6 on the outward half was the killer blow even though he notched five birdies.
Two Dutchmen, Robin Kind (69-70) and Floris de Haas (66-73), share the lead on 139.
