EVERETT AND SAVAGE WIN GLENMUIR BETTER-BALL FOUR-BALL AT WINDY DUNDONALD

Caldwell's Craig Everett and Stewart Savage (Dalmuir) dovetailed best of all to win the £700 first prize in the PGA of Scotland's Glenmuir Winter Series better-ball four-ball competition at Dundonald Links today
Such has been the severity of the Scottish winter, this was the third attempt to play the event. So third time lucky in more ways than one for Messrs Everett and Savage on a dry but very windy day at the Ayrshire venue.
The winners birdied the first, fourth, sixth, 14th and 18th in a bogey-free round of five-under-par 67 (33-34)
The clubhouse lead had been shared on 68 by Chris Currie (Caldwell) and Neil Fenwick (Dunbar) with the Prestwick pairing of David Fleming and Allan Todd, until Everett and Savage, in the second last match to finish, proved the tie-breaker.
The joint runners-up won £425 per pairing.
