ADAM SCOTT BEATS ANGEL CABRERA IN PLAY-OFF FOR MASTERS' GREEN JACKET

Adam Scott, the Aussie who blew his chances of winning the Open championship with a dramatic collapse over the last few holes, is a major winner less than a year later.
He caught long-time leader Angel Cabrera to tie with the Argentininian on nine-under-par for 72 holes. Then Scott holed a birdie putt at the second extra hole to win the play-off.
Cabrera was two shots clear with fewer than nine holes to play.
Cabrera and Scott were both eight under par after 16 holes. Both birdied the 18th hole in regulation play.
Scott is the first Australian to win the Masters. Compatriot Greg Norman once famously lost a huge lead to Nick Faldo. It was an excellent tournament for the men from Down Under with Jason Day finishing third on seven under and Marc Leishman joint fourth with Tiger Woods on 283.
And so Woods' two-shot penalty did not make the difference between winning and losing. He closed with a 70 to finish FOUR strokes behind Scott and Cabrera.
