DAVID LAW HAS A 76 AND IS NINE SHOTS BEHIND TURKEY LEADER
David Law's rich seam of form - which saw him win last week on the German PGA's Pro Golf Tour in Turkey and shoot a 68 in the first round of this week's Sueno Pines Classic at Belek - came to an end iin Round 2. The 21-year-old Aberdonian shot a four-over-par 76 for a level par total of 144 and is in joint 18th position. Twice Scottish amateur champion, Law made the cut to play the last round by three shots but he is nine behind leader Ken Benz (Switzerland) who added a 71 to his opening 64 for a nine-under 135 tally. Law was six over par after only seven holes, thanks to double bogey 6s at the fourth and sixth and single shots dropped at the third and seventh. An eagle 3 at the long eighth repaired some of the damage as he turned in 40. But a bogey at the 11th and a birdie at the 14th saw him come home in level par 36. Paul Lawrie Golf Centre team-mate Jordan Findlay from Fraserburgh missed the cut by 11 shots with a total of 158, made up of a 76 and an 82 which included two double bogeys in an inward 42. The third PLGC player in the field, Peterhead's Philip McLean did not play in the second round. He notified the organisers he was retiring after an opening 76.
