GAVIN DEAR LYING JOINT FIFTH IN EL VALLE OPEN, SPAIN
Perthshire's Gavin Dear is lying joint fifth on the three-over-par 74 mark at the halfway stage of the Spanish Evolve Tour's El Valle Open at El Valle Golf Club, Murcia.
Dear had a roller-coaster round which included an eagle 2 at the par-4 fifth and a double bogey 7 at the par-5 third.
He also birdied the eighth and 11th but bogeys at the 14th and short 15th knocked him back four shots behind the German leader, Floria Fritsch.
Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll is joint 12th on 77 after a double bogey 7 at the fourth. She did birdie the fifth but bogeyed five of her last seven holes.
