GRAHAM GORDON LEADS SCOTS IN SOUTH AMERICA

 Graham Gordon from Newmachar shot the lowest round of the four Scots in the field of 77 players on the first day of the South American men's amateur championship at El Rincon Golf Club, Bogota in Colombia.
The forrmer Scottish champion and 1999 Walker Cup player returned a 78 to be lying joint 21st, six shots the pace-setter Juan Miguel Heredia (Ecuador).
Jamie Savage (Cawder) and Erskine's Michael Daily had 79s. Fraser Moore (Glenbervie) returned an 80 to be joint 41st.

Geoff Lenehan (Ireland) and Wolgang Pedal (Peru) shared second place on 73
Best English scores were 75s by Callum Shinklin and Jordan Smith. They are joint fifth going into the second day.
