SCOTS FINISH IN SAUDI ARABIA TOP 10

Two Scots finished in the top 10 of the latest MENA Tour event in Saudi Arabia. Duncan Stewart from Grantown on Spey finished joint sixth on four-under-par 212 with scores of 68, 74 and 70. Gavin Dear (Murrayshall) came joint 10th on 214 with rounds of 73, 68 and 73. A third Scot, Greg Nicolson (Mortonhall) finished joint 20th with ever improving scores of 75, 73 and 70 for two-over-par 218. The winner of the Dirab Championship at Dirab Golf and Country Club was Pakistan's Shafiq Mashi who beat Welshman Craig Smith at the first hole of a sudden-death play-off. They had tied on eight-under 208 with Mashi scoring 68-74-66 and Smith 73-69-66. ends
