WHITE, CRICHTON LEADING SCOTS IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Fifers James White (Lundin) and Aberdour's Scott Crichton were the leading Scots in joint 30th place at the end of the first day of the 72-hole European men's individual amateur championship at Carton House GC, Maynooth in Ireland today.
Leader with an eight under par 62 is a Swede, Daniel Jennevret. He leads by two from an Englishman who has played the US college circuit for the past few years, Garrick Porteous.
