SCOTS CHASING £10,000 PRIZE AT MORPETH

Scots Shaun McAllister (Craigielaw) and Grantown on Spey's Duncan Stewart are both in with a chance of lifting the £10,000 jackpot prize in the PGA EuroPro Tour event, the Sweetspot Classic, which ends at Longhirst Hall GC, Morpeth on Saturday.
McAllister had a bag of seven birdies and two bogeys in compiling a five-under-par 65 to move into joint second place on 137 alongside overnight leader Stewart, two shots behind leader James Ruth (St Mellion) (67-68).
Stewart went from an opening 66 to a two-over 72 with three bogeys and only one later birdie.
Other Scots who made the cut on 147 and better were John Gallagher (Turnhouse), joint 10th on 142 (71-71), Elliot Saltman (Archerfield Links), joint 23rd on 144 (75-69) and Wallace Booth (Comrie), joint 38th on 146 (78-68).
Scots who missed the cut were Paul Doherty (74-74) and John Henry (Clydebank and District) (78-70) on 148, Zack Saltman (Archerfield Links) on 151 (80-71) and Ian Redford (St Andrews New) on 161 (81-80).
