ROBERT ARNOTT STRIKES AGAIN TO WIN AT HAYSTON

Bishopbriggs Golf Range professional Robert Arnott scored his sixth one-day win of the season - and his second in three days - on the Tartan Tour with a fine round of six-under-par 66 to head a big field of 51 players in the Hayston Charity pro-am at Hayston Golf Club, Glasgow on Saturday.
Arnott, following up his Thursday success at Douglas Park, had an eagle 2 at the third and birdies at the long second, fifth, short eighth, 10th, long 16th and 17th. He dropped shots at the short fourth and short 16th in collecting the £1,408 top prize ahead of three players on 65 - David Orr (Mearns Castle Golf Academy), Thailand-based Kenny Walker (Castle Park) and Banchory's Greig Hutcheon each of whom earned £868.
Orr had eight birdies but, on the debit side, a double bogey 6 at the seventh and a bogey at the short 14th.
Walker had a five-birdie, bogey-free 65 while Hutcheon had six birdies and one bogey.
In a tight finish to the pro-am section, two teams tied on 16-under-par 54. Host club pro Stephen Gray's trio of Billy Peterkin (handicap 17), Scott Winter (18) and Malcolm Laverock (7) won on the better second nine from the team of Jason McCreadie (Buchanan Castle).
+Arnott's latest success brought his season's earnings up to £11,036 and he is lying second in the PGA of Scotland money table to Greig Hutcheon (£12,868) with last year's leading money-winner, Stephen Gray, in third place with £10,532.
